afb offers online legitimation solution at the point of sale

Munich, 9 November 2017 – afb Application Services AG (afb), a leading provider of innovative software solutions for digital, integrated omni-business models, offers online legitimation not just for (Internet) business transactions from home, but also directly at the point of sale.

A smooth, seemless online contract conclusion inspires a customer only if he can carry out any necessary legitimation at the time when the desire to buy is greatest, for example, during a visit in a store, at a dealer or to another point of sale. afb offers financial services providers, manufacturers and retailers a business service that seamlessly integrates online legitimation into the personal sales pitch as part of the digital contract conclusion.

The legitimation may be provided by authorised third parties that are not part of the organisation of the financial services provider. These include, for example, vendors, sales or field staff of manufacturers, retailers or other service providers. They can record personal data and check security features of ID documents by means of a controlled workflow. Test reports or ID certificates are created automatically. This simplifies the processes in omni-channel sales. Advantages of this legitimacy check are the identification during the sales talk on site and the immediate application of the test result for the online contract conclusion in real time. It eliminates the need to create documents or fill-in forms and process them, no extra hardware is required and costs are significantly lower than the (additional) use of a call centre as part of a video identification.

'With our business service we simplify the legitimisation process during the sales talk. For example, a sales representative can easily perform online legitimation on the go with the help of an iPad. Our solution not only improves customer orientation, it also has a positive effect on the closure rate,' explains Philipp Oberleitner, Sales Manager at afb.

Thanks to the service-oriented architecture, existing IT landscapes can easily and quickly be extended by innovative functions without changing their code base.
